In 1020 A. D. King Olaf of Norway and King Olaf of Sweden met to decide on the ownership of an isolated district of Hising. They chose to resolve their dispute by means of rolling two dices. Thus even unknowingly, they decided to settle their difference by means of gambling.

Playing cards origin

There is really no clear answer when it comes to the origin of playing cards. The earliest verifiable information to playing cards in Europe can be traced back to the 13th century, although no one is certain where exactly do they originate and how did they manage to make their way outside Europe. The earliest playing card found was dated during the 11th century which comes from Chinese Turkestan. Many scholars believed that the Chinese were the ones who invented the playing cards for the same reason that they were the ones who also invented the paper. The four decked cards that we know today evolved in the Islamic world even before the 13th century and were brought to the civilized world by the Europeans. The French were the first to introduce the design of the cards that we are familiar with today together with spades, clubs, diamonds and hearts. The design of the cards was efficient enough for mass production. It took the cards nearly four centuries to finally become popular as England reluctantly picked up the card designs from the French and started producing the cards themselves. Later on, Americans started producing their own cards adding a lot to the decks as we know them today: double headed court cards, varnished backs, indexes, round corners and the infamous Joker. Playing cards were mostly used inside the casino.

Origin of Blackjack

Blackjack began around the beginning of the 18th century in France where it appeared in the form of a game called “vingt et un” or “twenty one”. The name itself comes from the early version of the game in which the player received a payoff of 10 to 1 if he had a blackjack of spades and a (black) ace of spades.

Blackjack’s popularity reached the United States in the 19th century. In 1931, gambling became legal in Las Vegas and blackjack was one of the staples of the new casino scene.

During the 1950’s and 1960’s, books were published that used mathematical analysis (also known as counting cards) to teach players on how to improve their odds of beating the dealer. One of these books was Dr. Edward Thorp’s “Beat the Dealer”. It became a bestseller and blackjack became the most popular juegos de casino in the United States.

The game of blackjack lives on and prospers in almost every self-respecting traditional casino or virtual casino.

Origin of dice

The origin of dice that we know today can be found in ancient games of bone rolling. The dice has traceable history that goes back into the very roots of ancient humanity. They are arguably the oldest form of gambling known to humanity. Dice games were witnessed by Marco Polo. Genghis Khan, ancient Egyptian rulers and ancient Greeks were all known to resort to dice rolling as means of divination and entertainment. Originally a form of divination, bone rolling slowly became a game of fortune-telling and gambling.

Along with the evolution of dice also came the art of cheating in die games. Romans were especially notorious at cheating; Augustus, Nero and Caligula all happened to be prolific dice cheaters.

By the 10th century, dicing was extremely popular almost everywhere. Dicing was in fact so popular that the Crusader army leaders had to prohibit dice gambling among the lower ranks of troops entirely so as to prevent the soldiers from gambling out their possessions entirely.

Origin of slot machines

In 1897, Charles Fey is credited with inventing the slot machine in San Francisco. Prior to Fey’s invention, there were other coin-operated games of chance. Most of these were poker machines that allowed a player to win a cigar or free drinks when they lined-up a winning combination. Since the winners were paid in some sort of merchandise the name “trade stimulator” was attached to these types of machines.

Today, the most popular slot machines can be found in virtual casinos. The internet contains a wide variety of exciting and unusual slot machines whose function accurately simulates that of the familiar slot machines found in every casino around the world. Though lacking in physical form, today’s online slot machines offer the player the same odds and excitement found in a casino, only these slots can be played anytime and on any computer.

Black jack is one of the most widely played card games in the world today. In fact, every casino, whether on the soil or in cyberspace, list the game as one of their most popular games available.

But for anyone that wants to know further, the history of blackjack can be quite as interesting as the game itself. While not being directly crucial to the individual game, you can still get a few insights on the game and further appreciate it as well.

Blackjack has its origins in the country of France, it emerged roughly during the seventeenth century. The first prototype of the game is believed to be the game “vingt-et-un” (literally as twenty and one in French), which was popular in France during that century. It is also believed that the game is itself derived from other French card games which involved strategic calculations and betting.

The game was the introduced into other countries in Europe, which enthusiastically accepted it. Various names were adapted by different countries for the game. The English name for the game itself was derived from the French version of the game, where there are instances where a player can draw the Jack of spades and the Jack of clubs at the same time, hence black jacks.

Blackjack entered the United States gaming scene soon after the French revolution, where it was received well. The entry of the game in the US was marked by a time when there are no strict gambling regulations set forth yet in the nineteenth century. Thus many professional gamblers saw the opportunity provided by blackjack, which also led to its rise in popularity.

At the turn of the century however, the US government began enforcing stricter gambling regulations to curb the rise of rampant illegal activities. In 1910, the state of Nevada declared gambling, including blackjack playing, as a criminal activity. This greatly hurt the then fledgling Las Vegas gaming industry.

During later years, however, the government subsequently softened its stand against gambling and begun legalizing gaming activities. Legislation was also then set forth to oversee operations and protect the rights of players as well as the industry itself. With the more relaxed setup, the game of blackjack also experienced a great deal of renewed interest from players.

During the fifties, the game experienced yet another great development, as some renown mathematicians began detailed analysis of the game. A large volume of academic studies detailing the mathematical complexities of the game were published during that time, which led to even more interest in the game.

Development went further when players used these studies to formulate game strategies that they can use. This led to the introduction of basic strategies and blackjack card counting techniques which are widely used by players today.

In order to get a good edge in the game of blackjack, you need to play smartly. However, playing smart is not as easy as you may think. You need to know how to be smart in order to play one. And by smart, it doesn’t mean only being brainy.

In order to be a good blackjack player, you need to have the skills to use. This is particularly easy since you can easily learn the basic skills that you will need in the game. You can also gain a good amount of skills by observing other players.

However, how you use the skills is the one that would separate smart from those that are just skilled. Here, strategy becomes very important. You should know how to use the card skills that you have properly and in the right time. You also need to learn how to adjust your gameplay when the situation needs it.

One thing that you should remember is that learning strategies is not solely by the book. You can learn other strategies by observing other players’ moves during the game. You can also talk with other players to get more info on various strategy. The last one, in particular, is very useful, since you not only get to learn new game strategies but also gain new friends who can teach you other strategies.

Keen observation is also one of the most important skills that a blackjack player needs to have. Often, many players, especially the new ones, get too focused on the hands that they do not notice useful hints that would show up every now and then. A smart player, on the other hand, would be out looking for cues during the game and using them to their advantages. Other players would be often be surprised as to how one pull off a surprising win right under noses.

You should also know that while you are observing others, they may be also looking at you. A smart player would be aware of this and would try to hide their from other players. Here the really crafty player would try to look normal while he is actually concealing his strategies. Often one can use certain house rules that the casino implements, to his advantage. One particular rule actually allows wearing a cap on the table, which he can use to hide his eyes when observing others.

Perhaps the most important thing that a smart player must have is good money management. Since blackjack is a casino game, money is definitely involved. Thus, one needs to be very careful when spending his cash in the game. Sadly, however, many players often get too carried away with the game that they lose track of the money that they spend. A smart player would avoid this and instead chose their bets very carefully and also control their money very closely so that they can still have as good portion to take home.

As you can see, being smart not only relies on knowing what cards you hold but how you actually play them. One thing to remember is that you should always try to learn more in the game in order to become better when playing.

These days, texting is one of the fastest ways to communicate with someone without having to sit down at a computer. From the older flip phones that require dialing as a way of texting to slide and tilt phones complete with touchscreen and QWERTY keyboard, phones have gradually become more designed for texting and use of a keyboard. First came the T9 option, which made texting on flip phones a bit easier. Then came these, the two best cell phones for texting. They are the Blackberry Curve series, which includes the 8300 and 8900, and the Samsung Blackjack II, successor to the original Blackjack. These two combine the essentials of efficient texting to bring the fastest experience.

The Blackberry Curve series was first released in 2007 by Research In Motion. The most recent 8900 release sports the classic 35-key keyboard and a candybar design. In fact, the Blackberry Curve 8900 redesigned the older 8300 to get to the Internet, making use of the efficient texting design for browser use, email, and organization. It’s no wonder that this series is one of the best for texting; the average fingertip can press more than four buttons at a time, whereas other phones have larger, bulkier buttons. You can pick up the newer Blackberry 8900 for $399, and the older Blackberry 8300 for $199.

Samsung released the middle child of the Blackjack family, the Blackjack II, in 2007. The original Blackjack, also released in 2007, was already great for texting; it had a simple texting structure and a compact keyboard. While the Blackjack II doesn’t really change much of the texting part of it (both can run on Windows Mobile 6 and have similar QWERTY keyboards), the other features of the phone have really improved: faster processor, improved camera, and a slightly bigger screen. In all, the Blackjack II has not only retained the status of a great texting phone that the original Blackjack had, but also brought up so many new features that sent it to the top of the Consumer Reports smartphone charts. You can buy a Samsung Blackjack II for as low as $99, which isn’t surprising considering that the original Blackjack was once at $50 (currently not in stock).

These two phones have two things in common: fast response times and a compact keyboard. These two make texting very easy because everything is where it should be and the phone won’t make things difficult by being sluggish or whatnot. The industry has yet to see better phones, as these series were designed first for texting (both predecessors were designed with a clean keyboard) and then upgraded up to include very useful features like GPS, video and camera, email, and improved browser use.

In a word, no. Card counting is not illegal.

You cannot use any devices to assist you in card counting. Pocket sized computers and other electronic devices that can be used as card counting aides are illegal. If you are caught using such a device you will be arrested in Las Vegas. A card counter can only use his own intellect to card cards.

A casino will be on guard for card counters. They watch for players who play in a business like manner. They look for players who don’t interact with the dealer or other patrons. They look for players using basic strategy. Casinos will count along with a suspect card counter. A player will be labeled as a counter when the casino sees the player raise his bet when the count is in his favor.

Team play was big in the 1990s. A team would consist of one or more players at a table betting only the table minimum and counting cards. Since these players never increased their wager, the casinos could not spot them as counters. These players then signal another, “big money” player. The “big money” player wanders from table only stopping where the count is in his favor and only betting large amounts. Without the typical wager increases of a single card counter, teams of players were difficult for the casino to spot.

A casino may escort you off premises, read you the riot act, and threaten you with trespassing should you return. They may share your picture and profile with other casinos. However, this is not likely unless you are wagering large sums of money.

A card counter who is counting poorly or who is losing is likely to be allowed to play. A casino is happy to have anyone lose at any of their games. A card counter who is winning will often provoke some action by the casino. The easiest thing for the casino to do is instruct the dealer to shuffle more frequently, perhaps every third or fifth hand. This makes the counter constant reset his count and he will never see the positive count he needs.

In order to prevent being identified as a card counter, a player can do several things. First, the player should act in a relaxed manner. Second, it may be prudent to break basic strategy. For example, you could split tens every once in a while. A casino is likely to label you a recreational player if you break basic strategy now and then. Finally, a player can be careful with his wager. A five to ten times increase in the wager is likely to be ignored. Beyond ten times increase will draw scrutiny. Also, some players recommend changing your wager in proportion to the running count. Thus the wager is always changing and it’s hard to notice increases.

In order to have a good run when playing online blackjack, you should have a good strategy in mind. And in order to come up with a good strategy in the game, you need to know more about one.

Many people often find it difficult to play online blackjack simply because it somehow feels different than the table top game. However, as it turns out, the only ne version is not entirely different as one might think.

One of the most common complains that many veteran players complain of is the unfamiliarity of the game console. However, while you definitely can’t hold the virtual cards, the controls of online blackjack games are quite very simple. Usually, there is only one or two buttons that you need to use. A single deal button is placed under the the cards, which you click to start the deal. Then the cards are dealt to you. In order to hit, you simply hit the deal button again to draw a card. To stand, you either don’t press any button within a given time limit or there is another one you press to indicate the move. To bet, there is a space provided either at the top or at the bottom of the screen where you type in the amount of your bets and then submit them. Other betting options are often already incorporated in the space.

Once you get used with the controls, gameplay is relatively the same as that of the tabletop version. One thing that you will notice though is that the game is much faster online since there is no delays when the cards are dealt. You automatically get the cards as soon as you click the deal button.

Now that you figured out how the online game works, you can then devise a strategy for your use. Interestingly, as you will find out soon enough during your play, the strategies that you use when playing paper cards can also come in handy when playing online. One thing that you need to remember is that, while the computer game may use a very complicated software, it still used a definite set of cards, meaning a 52 card deck. Depending on the variant that you are playing, there can be either a single or multiple decks, but still they are the same cards. You can then use card counting to some extent in determining the cards remaining on the dealer’s possession. Your only limit in card counting is that you won’t be able to see other players’ cards.

Luckily, betting strategies also apply to online blackjack. You will still be able to play basic strategy here, since blackjack games don’t shuffle the virtual deck until after the round (there are some cases of continuously shuffling games, but these are few). Also, provided that you are in the right position, you can also use doubling down options to your advantage.

As it turns out for you, online blackjack can be very easy to play as long that you know what to do. And remember to simply enjoy the game.

Some times luck plays a major role when it comes to score wins in online blackjack, it won’t be right to close our eyes and ignore the fact that a good blackjack strategy can actually help make successful decisions in the long run.

Blackjack is one of the game where you can do a lot without luck too! That’s right, if you can master the skills like card counting and blackjack basic strategy, you can gain an edge over the casino and score more wins.

By Using the Basic Blackjack Strategy

The basic blackjack strategy is the simple and best way to score wins in blackjack. Though it does not work every time, but most of the times it works. This strategy is actually a chart that suggests actions related to every possible hand in blackjack. All you need to do is match your hand with the Dealer’s up card and take the suggested action.

If you can learn the blackjack strategy, you can play hard hands, soft hands, and even pairs! You can decide when to stand, when to hit, when to split, when to double your bet, and when to surrender. All in all, you can play blackjack very effectively!

By Using a Card Counting Method

Another method to win blackjack games is called card counting. This is an advanced method and requires a lot of attention and the ability to quickly perform simple arithmetic operations like addition and subtraction.

There are many card counting techniques available out there, but their objective is same: they all help you guess the number of high- and low-value cards left in the remaining decks, which is represented by a count.

If you get a positive count of 2 or more, it’s green light for you to go ahead and place higher bets. But if you get a negative count, you need to place relatively smaller bets, as a negative count indicates the majority of low value cards remaining in the decks.

These techniques can effectively help you win blackjack games. But make sure you spend enough time practicing these techniques before play blackjack with real money. The more you practice the confident you will feel.

Blackjack is simple to understand and not too difficult to master. You can earn a fortune while playing blackjack. Thousands of online blackjack players has done that and you too can do it. Read on to clear any doubts that you have about blackjack.

Objective of the Game

The objective of the game is to beat the dealer by making a hand valued at 21 or closest to it. Anything more than 21 is considered a “bust” or “too many”, which leads to immediate defeat.

Card Rankings

In blackjack, cards from 2 to 10 carry their face value. Jack, Queen, and King are valued at 10. The Ace is valued at 1 or 11, depending upon your choice. When you play online blackjack, any Ace dealt is automatically counted as 1 or 11, so you don’t need to know how an Ace is counted.

Beginning a Game

To begin a game, you need to place your bet within the table limits. This bet is also called “ante”. After you place your bet, you and the dealer are dealt two cards each. Both of your cards are visible whereas only one of the dealer’s cards is visible. This card is called “up card” and the card that lies faced down is called “hole card”.

Your Turn

If you are not dealt a blackjack (a combination of Ace and any 10 value card), count your hand total. Your goal is to build a potentially winning hand, so judging the quality of your hand, you can take further actions listed below.

Dealer’s Turn

When you stand, the dealer takes over. The dealer takes further actions according to a different set of rules. Under the most common rules, the dealer must hit on a hand total of 16 or less. And must stand on 17 or more. Casinos may customize these rules so don’t forget to check out the rules in advance. We at Club Player Casino follow the most common set of rules.

Determining the Outcome of a Game

To determine the outcome of a game, your hand is compared against the dealer’s. If your hand is better than the dealer, you win the game and receive an even payout. But if it’s the other way around, you lose your bet immediately. In case of a tie, your bet is returned to you.

Once a game is over, you can start a new game by placing another bet and getting the cards dealt.

Insurance Bet

In Blackjack Games, you can place a side bet called insurance bet when the dealer shows an Ace. You are paid 2-to-1 on insurance bet and this bet is equal to half your initial bet. You bet on dealer’s blackjack. If the dealer comes up with a blackjack, you get the payout. However, if the dealer does not come up with a blackjack, you lose your insurance bet. In any case, the game still continues and your hand is compared against the dealer’s to determine the outcome.

To begin playing blackjack, that’s all you need to know. To sharpen your blackjack skills, you can read about advanced blackjack techniques like basic blackjack strategy and blackjack card counting. These techniques can certainly help you make good in online blackjack as well as in land-based blackjack.
